Take Your Marriage Off-Site

Before next year fills up, make room for the two of you.

An annual reset for the life you're building together.

A standalone planning kit from Married, Not Managed. No assessment or previous purchase is required.

The Marriage Alignment is an annual, self-guided couples planning kit to reflect on the year, discuss what comes next, share responsibility, and turn your intentions into a practical plan. Use it at home, over a half-day, or during a weekend away.

Your marriage isn't a company. Your future still deserves a conversation.

What you leave with

A plan, not a pile of good intentions

  1. 01Space for each perspectiveBoth partners get their own room to think first — before any shared decision is on the table.
  2. 02Up to three 90-day prioritiesNot twelve resolutions. Up to three things you actually intend to move on in the next quarter.
  3. 03A shared 12–36 month directionA direction you can name together, with room for the parts that are still uncertain.
  4. 04Specific ownership and follow-throughWho notices, who decides, who does, and when you'll look at it again — written down.
  5. 05A next check-in dateThe plan ends the way it should start: with the next time you'll sit down together.

Inside the kit

Four parts, prepared carefully

Four downloadable PDF parts are being prepared now. Nothing is available to download yet.

Start Here & Private Reflection

Each partner completes their own copy first. What you write stays yours until you choose to share it.

In preparation

Couples Conversation Workbook

Guided prompts for the conversations that planning usually skips — what you want, what you carry, what comes next.

In preparation

Shared Life Planner

The working document for priorities, ownership, and direction — with an optional vision-board template.

In preparation

Quarterly & Life-Change Check-Ins

Short, repeatable sessions for every season: a new quarter, an anniversary, or a change you didn't plan.

In preparation

These are educational, self-guided tools — not therapy or counseling, and not professional financial, legal, or medical advice. The parts will be shaped as the material is completed; page counts aren't promised, because they don't matter as much as the conversations do.

Choose your format

The same kit, three paces

About 2 hours

Focused session

Not the entire workbook. Prepare privately first, then bring one priority topic to the table.

About 4 hours

Half-day

Longer, with breaks built in. Room for the conversation workbook and the first pass at a shared plan.

Several short sessions

Weekend

Spread across a weekend with protected time to actually enjoy each other between sessions.

At home is equally valid — no hotel required. And the kit isn't a January product: use it annually, quarterly, on an anniversary, or when life changes. The files use blank dates, so they're reusable year after year.

Both partners participate

How the time together works

  • Each partner prepares separately first.
  • Divide the logistics explicitly — booking, childcare, time — rather than assuming.
  • Invite rather than ambush.
  • No one carries all the reminders and follow-up.
  • Unresolved is a valid outcome. Getting to the real conversation matters more than finishing a form.

Private reflection stays private unless its author chooses to share it. This product does not collect worksheet answers. Your individual notes stay with you; share only what you choose. Shared notes are kept where both partners agree. (This applies to the Marriage Alignment kit only; the separate assessment on this site has its own privacy and data practices, described on its own pages.)

A taste of the questions

Where the conversation starts

“What did we carry this year that we never paused to discuss?”
“What do you want for yourself that our plans need to make room for?”
“What specifically changes in the next 90 days — and who owns the next step?”

Questions

Before you ask

Is this a live retreat?
No. There is no event, workshop, booking, or travel package. You organize your own time — at home or wherever suits you.
Do we have to travel?
No. At home is equally valid, and no hotel is required. Some couples choose a weekend away; many don't.
Can one person start?
Private reflection, yes — that part is yours. Shared decisions require willing participation, and the kit cannot make a partner participate.
Is it only for January?
No. Use it annually, quarterly, on an anniversary, or whenever life changes. The files use blank dates and are reusable.
Does it diagnose or provide therapy?
No. This is educational, self-guided material built from lived experience. It is not therapy, counseling, or professional financial, legal, or medical advice.
Is this a subscription?
The plan is a one-time, reusable digital kit — not a recurring product. Details and availability are still being finalized.

A note on safety and fit

This is for willing partners who can discuss plans without intimidation or fear of retaliation. Do not use an off-site to force disclosure, intimacy, or agreement. When safety is a concern, pause the joint exercise and seek appropriate individual support.

Safety resources

Married, Not Managed is lived-experience education, not therapy or counseling. If you need support right now, the safety page lists confidential resources.
